EMR Course
The EMR courses are offered periodically throughout the year based on educational needs and demand. The course schedule varies based on the requesting agencies needs and timelines. Overall course timeline varies between 48-60 hours and is available in various formats to fulfill the classroom portion of the curriculum. Hands-on skills and immersive simulation are conducted as a live in-person event multiple times during the course. Students that successfully complete the program are eligible to take the National Registry EMR cognitive exam.

High School
The EMT courses are offered in the fall and spring of each year at Sanford Health. The course schedule is inclusive of two nights per week of LIVE lecture and one Saturday per month of hands-on skills and simulation. Overall course timeline is four months from start to finish. Multiple course formats are available to learners interested in taking the EMT course. Various course platforms are available to learners interested in taking the EMT course. Course design is intended to be a cost efficient option for individuals interested in attending an EMT course from various settings (rural, urban, college, etc.). Students successfully completing the program are eligible to take the National Registry EMT cognitive exam.
A summer EMT course is offered in partnership with Southeast Technical College and Sanford Health.
The EMT course for High School Seniors is offered in partnership with the South Dakota HOSA and several school districts throughout the state. High School students in their senior year of school are able to attend one of two courses offered during the year. Courses are conducted through a hybrid platform of online and live learning. Students participate in EMT course as a dedicated course during the school day schedule. The timeline for each course is the start and end of the academic semester at the school (fall and spring). Students attend hands-on lab activities one Saturday per month to fulfill course requirements and achieve eligibility to take the National Registry EMT exam. Students successfully achieving NREMT EMT certification are eligible for college credit at multiple college and university campuses.
