Mt. Hood Community College

If you enjoy taking care of others and are able to keep your cool in high-stress situations, you might do well in a career as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). The EMT program at Mt. Hood Community College will train you to work with paramedics and doctors to help save lives in emergencies. Our EMT program can teach you to give basic medical care, like checking a person’s breathing, treating wounds, and administering CPR.

The Experience
Program Details
The EMT Program at MHCC offers an evening EMT-Basic course that follows the National Standard Curriculum set forth by the US Department of Transportation/National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This includes the didactic, practical, clinical, and field internship training. This qualifies you to take the State of Oregon EMT Basic and the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exams.

Your future
Job opportunities for EMTs are expected to grow both locally and nationally.

How To Get Started
The EMT program is a limited-entry program. This means you must meet certain criteria before you can apply. The program admits students every fall and spring term.
