Idaho CPR Plus Emergency Medical Technician Basic (EMT-B) course prepares and teaches students basic knowledge and skills of emergency care and response to assist someone who has been injured or is experiencing a medical emergency. After successful completion of the course, the EMT-B will be able to use critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision making to respond to and assist someone in need. The EMT works as an integral part of the Emergency Medical Service (EMS) community and provides a link from the scene to more advanced medical care.
During the EMT-B course, the student will be assessed and tested on National Registry of EMT (NREMT) Basic psychomotor skills.
Following the 14 weeks of EMT-B training, the student will receive a class course completion certificate. The student will then need to schedule the NREMT Basic written exam on their own.
