Emergency Medical Training Services

Course Description
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) formerly known as EMT-Basic course includes online homework lectures as well as weekly classroom lectures in addition to skill labs to care for medical and trauma related emergencies. The course will also cover mass casualty care, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, and medical legal. All students will conduct lab sessions in our 7 ALS training ambulances which will include obstacle course driving. The course will include a minimum of 58 hours of online lectures, 95 hours of classroom as well as 32 hours of clinicals and internships with area emergency departments and/or 911 EMS providers. Upon successful completion of the course participants will be eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) written exam for national certification.
Prerequisites:
18 years of age at time course concludes.
High School Diploma or GED.
Under 18 years of age can take the class and become NREMT certified. Graduate will not receive their Texas Department of State Health Services (TxDSHS) certificate (to work) until a high school diploma/GED is provided and turns 18 years of age.
Those convicted for any type of sexual assault may not become certified by TxDSHS and all other criminal acts are reviewed by TXDSHS on a case-by-case basis. Contact the school to speak with a program coordinator for assistance.

Course Fees:
$1450 (a minimum of 1/2 of the course fee is due at time of registration to reserve a seat and is non-refundable. The remaining balance is due the first-class session.)

Includes: course textbooks in e-book format, classroom, lab and clinical fees, clinical polo, liability insurance $1m/5m, AHA BLS certification.
Does not include: immunizations if not current, drug testing fee ($40), stethoscope ($13) and trauma shears ($5). Upon completion of the course students will be responsible for NREMT exam fees ($104), TxDSHS application ($64) and FACT criminal background for certification ($38).
