Are you interested in Emergency Medical Services (EMS)? Taking an EMT class is the first step to a career in EMS.

EMT 100 will introduce you to the knowledge and skills for an entry-level EMT position. Upon completion of the program, you will be eligible to take the National Registry for EMT Certification and apply for the State licensing.

Studying Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic Program can lead to a variety of different jobs or career paths. Below are just some of the many options you will have!

EMTs most often work in the prehospital setting for ambulance agencies, park service, or fire departments
A licensed paramedic is the highest level of the prehospital care team and may find employment with a fire department, private ambulance service, third city service, hospital, or other operation.
Many students use their EMT and Paramedic training as an introduction to a variety of other medical fields, such as: registered nurse, ER Technician, respiratory therapist, physician’s assistant, or physician
Program Information
Program Requirements
Must be 18 years of age and fulfill all requirements for enrollment in credit courses at CCSF
Attend one mandatory EMT Program orientation meeting within one year of enrollment into the program (dates listed on program flyer)
Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider CPR card
Please Note: EMT students admitted to the EMT 100 Course will be required to register with Certified Background and successfully complete the criminal background and drug screening components before being placed on the clinical rotations. Students failing a drug or criminal background investigations will be dropped from class without exception.
