EMT Certification Course
The Williston Fire Department will be hosting an Emergency Medical Technician Certification . This course will be delivered in person and will also be available for distance learning via interactive video conferencing for departments interested. If a department is interested, they will have an option to host skills at their facility with a representative who completes an in service training, with one of our instructors that travel to the facility, or students attend skill sessions at the Williston Fire Department.

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification

$950/student

Gain the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and transportation to sick
and injured patients. The class will consist of a combination of lecture and skills training that
meet the standards and clinical requirements of the National Registry of Emergency Medical
Technicians (NREMT).

EMT students will be required to purchase the following items:

Textbook (hard copy or e-book)
EMS pants
EMT student polo (required for skills days and clinicals)
Black steel toe boots
EMT students will be required to maintain 80% attendance throughout the lectures and skills days and maintain a 75% average on tests, quizzes, and projects assigned.

OPPORTUNITIES

Upon successful completion of the course and certification through the Nation Registry of EMTs, graduates have many opportunities throughout North Dakota as a volunteer or as a career provider. Many non-ambulance industries hire EMTs as well due to their ability to treat injuries prior to ambulance arrival.
