Course Description

This Emergency Medical Technician Training Course is designed to prepare and qualify a student to take the National Registry of EMTs (NREMT) EMT written and psychomotor tests for certification as an EMT. After successful completion of the EMT training course, the student will be capable of performing the following functions:

Perform a rapid and detailed assessment of a patient with a medical or traumatic emergency.
Recognize the nature and seriousness of the patient’s condition or extent of injuries to assess requirements for emergency medical care.
Give life-saving interventions to treat problems associated with airway, breathing, and circulation.
Administer appropriate emergency medical care based on assessment findings of the patient’s condition.
Given a mass casualty incident, perform triage.
Perform safely and effectively the expectations of the job description of the EMT.
The EMT course is 120 hours in length with an additional 12 or more hours are spent in a clinical setting gaining hands–on experience treating patients.

The course is competency–based. Students must demonstrate a level of skills proficiency prior to receiving recommendation for certification. No refunds will be given for any reason once the course begins, including failure to obtain the basic certification.

Course Description

The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Course prepares students to provide basic and limited advanced emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergency patients who access the emergency medical system. This individual possesses the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and transportation. Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians function as part of a comprehensive EMS response, under medical oversight. Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians perform interventions with the basic and advanced equipment typically found on an ambulance. This level replaces EMT-Intermediate.

Completion of this Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Training Course is designed to prepare and qualify a student to take the National Registry of EMTs (NREMT) AEMT written and psychomotor tests for certification as an AEMT.

After successful completion of the AEMT training course, the student will be capable of performing the following functions:

Intravenous (IV) & Intraosseous (IO) therapies
Injections (Sub-Q. IM, Intradermal )
Supraglottic Airways
Introduction to EKGs
Advanced drug administration
​Advanced Medical & Traumatic Scenario Pass off
The AEMT course is 140 hours in length. This course is a hybrid learning environment utilizing online didactic instruction and in–class skills labs, projects and case studies.

The course is competency–based. Students must demonstrate a level of skills proficiency prior to receiving recommendation for certification.
